An attack forecast in Celestile: two circled numbers showing exactly what each unit will be left with. A Celestile match at round 12: an isometric board of planets, moons and asteroids with a green zone of control drawn around a claimed world. Celestile's technology web: twenty technologies across five disciplines, all on one screen.

Expand, build, out-think

Claim a cluster of space one tile at a time, build inside the territory you hold, and out-think up to fourteen rival empires. The board scales with the field — 12×12 against one opponent, 24×24 against fourteen, across four difficulty levels.

Domination

Hold every planet on the map.

Ascendancy

Finish ahead of every rival inside 30 rounds.

No dice

Attack, defence, terrain and technology resolve to one number, and you see it before you commit. A fight you lose is a fight you misread, not one a random roll took from you.

  • Strength 6 5 Your Marine Forecast
  • Strength 7 4 Their Rover Forecast

Nothing has happened yet. Those two numbers are what will happen.

Example strengths. The rule they demonstrate is not an example.

Five rules worth knowing

Territory you have to earn

Every planet projects a zone of control, and you can only build inside your own. Three Moon Lasers in a planet’s zone widen it. Growth is a build order, not a land grab.

A tech web that fits on one screen

Five disciplines — Warfare, Doctrine, Aeronautics, Stellar and Lunar — three tiers each, branching in two at the top. Twenty technologies on one radial web.

Fog that hides fleets, not geography

Ground you have explored stays on the map, dimmed. An enemy fleet standing on it does not.

An economy you can leverage

Bank energy for interest, or borrow against the future and settle a balloon payment five rounds later. Miss it and the Galactic Bank sends dreadnoughts to collect.

Eight unit classes, and a reason to specialise

Scout, Marine, Rover, Fighter, Bomber, Mech, Artillery, Dreadnought. Build a military university for one class and every unit of it attacks 10% harder, anywhere, for the rest of the game.

Eight factions

Each one is a different plan, not a bigger number. Two ship with the game; the other six are a one-time $1.99 each, with no subscription.

Hive Mind A unit that spends no movement heals to full, instead of a quarter. Free
Swarm Planets hold 1 more unit and units cost 15–25% less — but defend 10% weaker. Free
Collective Units defend 45% stronger while standing next to a friendly unit.
Ascendant Starts with Solar Tap already researched, and research costs half as much.
Warbound Units attack 10% stronger and take 35% less counterattack damage — but income is 12% lower.
Nomad Scouts move 1 further and income is 10% lower. Survives one round with no world — retake one or the fleet is lost.
Forge Moon work costs 60% less.
Wardens Your zone of control reaches 1 tile further, and units defend 32% stronger.

Six screens from one match

The board at round 12, with a green zone of control drawn around a claimed world.
Turn-based 4X. No dice.
An attack forecast: two circled numbers above the units, and the Attack button.
The forecast is the result.
The radial technology web, all twenty technologies visible at once.
20 technologies. One screen.
A home world's production panel, with unit costs listed.
Build only inside your own zone.
The eight-faction roster, two unlocked and six locked.
Eight factions. Eight different plans.
The achievements screen, partly earned.
47 achievements. Records that persist.
