Celestile
Support
Celestile is made by one small studio, so support is one person reading email. Most answers are below; if yours is not, write and you will get a reply from a human.
Usually answered within two business days. Telling us your device, your iOS or Android version, and what you were doing when it went wrong saves a round trip.
Purchases
I bought a faction and it is gone
Open Settings in the game and tap Restore Purchases. Factions are tied to the store account you bought them with, not to the device, so this brings them back after a reinstall or on a new phone.
It has to be the same Apple Account or Google account that made the purchase. If you have more than one, that is almost always the reason.
Restore Purchases says there is nothing to restore
Three things cause this, in order of likelihood:
- You are signed in to a different store account from the one that paid.
- The purchase did not complete. Check for a receipt email from Apple or Google — if there is none, you were not charged.
- The device is offline. Restoring needs a connection even though the game does not.
If you have a receipt and it still will not restore, email us with the receipt and we will sort it out.
I want a refund
Refunds are handled by the store, not by us — we never see your payment details and cannot issue one.
- iOS — reportaproblem.apple.com
- Android — Google Play, Order history, then Request a refund
If something went wrong on our side, tell us anyway. We will help you make the case.
I paid but I am still seeing ads
Buying any faction removes advertising permanently. If ads are still appearing, the app has not seen the purchase yet: tap Settings › Restore Purchases, then start a match.
Your game
My progress disappeared
Celestile saves only on your device. There is no cloud save and no account, which is also why the game needs no connection and asks for nothing about you.
The consequence is blunt: deleting the app deletes your progress, records and achievements, and we hold no copy and cannot restore them. Purchases are the exception — those are recorded against your store account and come back with Restore Purchases.
If progress vanished without the app being deleted, that is a bug and we want to hear about it.
The game is in the wrong language
Settings › Language. Celestile ships in English, Spanish, Russian, German, French, Portuguese, Hindi, Korean and Japanese, and each is listed in its own script so you can find yours without reading English first.
The text is too small
Settings › Text size has four steps up to Very large, and it scales the whole interface rather than just the menus.
The AI takes too long
Turns you cannot see already resolve instantly. To skip the ones you can see as well, turn on Settings › Skip AI turns.
Ads
When do ads appear?
One full-screen ad, immediately before a new match, and only after your first two matches of the day. There are no banners, and nothing in the game is locked behind watching one.
In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland there are no ads at all. Rather than ask for consent to personalised advertising, advertising is switched off entirely in those regions.
How do I stop personalised ads?
- iOS — Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking, and turn off Celestile.
- Android — Google settings, where you can reset or delete your advertising ID.
You will still see ads, but they will be less relevant and no cross-app tracking takes place. Buying a faction removes them entirely.
Privacy
Delete my data
There is no account and nothing of yours is stored on our systems, so deleting the app from your device deletes everything it holds.
To have the purchase record held by our payments provider deleted as well, email us and say which store you bought through and roughly when.
The full detail is in the Privacy Policy, which is available in all nine languages the game ships in.
Bugs
Reporting a bug
Useful things to include, roughly in order of how much they help:
- What you expected, and what happened instead.
- A screenshot. For anything on the board this is worth several paragraphs.
- Your device and OS version.
- Which faction you were playing and roughly which round it was.
Combat in Celestile is deterministic, so if a fight ever resolved differently from the forecast shown above it, that is a serious bug and worth reporting even if it only happened once.
